In 2014 I was sitting in my apartment putting off doing grad school work, having an overall bad time. I thought it might be fun to put out a Christmas album for my friends like Sufjan Stevens. Most of that first album was written and recorded in one sitting and was a fun reprieve from everything else I had going on at that time. In 2015 I did it again, and on and on and now nine years and nine albums later here we are.

Many of these recordings are rough and my voice even rougher but each of these songs has many special memories attached, and this time of year is all about looking back and celebrating imperfections. I'll have a tenth (holy shit) album out soon but in the holiday spirit I wanted to look back on my years of doing this project and share my favorites so far. I look forward to doing these songs every year and the support y'all send every year means more than I can express. Some of you have made some of these songs part of your yearly traditions and I can't thank you enough for that.
